DULUTH, Minn. (AP) — Republican Joe Fraser, a U.S. Navy veteran and political newcomer, launched a longshot campaign Tuesday to oust three-term Democratic U.S. Sen. Amy Klobuchar, of Minnesota. Fraser served in the Navy for 26 years, according to his website, with deployments to Europe, Haiti, the Far East and the Middle East. But the popular Klobuchar, who ran unsuccessfully for the Democratic presidential nomination in 2020, will be tough to beat. No current or recent office holders have indicated a desire to take on Klobuchar, and time is running out. No Republican has won statewide office in Minnesota since 2006, when Tim Pawlenty was reelected governor.

BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) — A North Dakota judge ruled Tuesday that he won’t block a part of a state law that doctors say puts them at risk of prosecution if they perform an abortion to save a patient’s life or health. Republican state Sen. Janne Myrdal, who brought the 2023 bill revising revising the laws, welcomed the judge's ruling. The judge granted a preliminary injunction blocking the ban from taking effect in 2022, a decision the state Supreme Court upheld in March. In June, the clinic filed an amended complaint, joined by several doctors in obstetrics, gynecology and maternal-fetal medicine. ___This story has been corrected to show that The Red River Women’s Clinic sued the state in 2022, not last year.

Even if it were the latter, OpenAI is "not the only game in town," as industry analyst Patrick Moorhead put it. In other words, there will be other companies — like Anthropic or Google — more than ready to assume AI leadership.

[PRO] Nvidia earnings in focus After the flurry of inflation reports last week, this week looks comparatively quiet in terms of economic data releases. In other words, there will be other companies — like Anthropic or Google — more than ready to assume AI leadership. And Nvidia's report, out Tuesday, will in all probability reassure investors shaken by the cracks in the gilded world of generative AI.

But multiple memory chips are needed to support each GPU or CPU, so making memory requires more fab space. Micron says construction in New York will begin at the end of 2024 and chip production there will start in 2027. By 1980, it was building its first fab and a year later was pumping out a revolutionarily small 64K DRAM chip. Gatzemeier, who joined as an intern in 1997, explained the two main kinds of memory: DRAM and NAND. When it comes to the biggest type of memory, DRAM, Samsung is by far the leader, followed by SK Hynix and then Micron.

Another Burger King franchisee, TOMS King Holdings, filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection in January for similar reasons.
